Our story
Founded on a simple frustration: small organizations get overcharged and underserved.
Hawk I.T LLC was formed as a partnership in 2017 with one focus — bring real, business-grade technology to organizations that the big regional IT firms either ignore or overcharge. In 2020, founding partner Joshua Wakefield acquired full ownership and grew Hawk IT into a multi-solution provider serving private businesses, EMS, faith-based organizations, municipalities, and non-profits across central Pennsylvania.
We're still small on purpose. The same person who designs your network is the one who answers when you call. There are no tiered support menus, no "your case has been escalated," no rotating account managers. When something breaks, you talk to someone who already knows your setup.
The work has stayed the same since day one: phone systems that don't drop, networks that don't crawl, cameras that actually capture what matters, and security that holds up. The list of clients has just gotten longer.
Meet the founder
Joshua Wakefield, Founder & Owner
Joshua has spent seventeen years in the IT industry — long enough to have installed every generation of phone system twice and to know the difference between a network that's "working" and a network that's built right. He holds a master's degree from Penn State in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance, which informs how Hawk IT thinks about every install: defense in depth, even when the budget is shoestring.
He started Hawk IT because he was tired of watching small organizations pay enterprise prices for under-engineered solutions, or worse, get talked into things they didn't need. The model is simple: figure out what you actually need, install it well, support it directly, and don't oversell. So far, that's worked.
